Week Eight
Overcoming challenges can be one of the most rewarding tasks that we can complete as humans. I feel that there are challenges in my life that I have either conquered or completely dissolved into and haven’t been able to recovery as quickly as I would have hoped. During this week’s discussions and learning activities it was very eye opening to hear that the way we look at our challenges can tell a lot about us and how we will be able to succeed.
What a difference it will make if we have a closed mindset or an open mindset. I typically am a closed mindset person. With somethings in life, I find it extremely difficult to be able to open my mind up to what is being taught or told to me. Which can have a very negative effect when I happen to come to a challenge that needs to be faced in order to move forward.
When I am about to look at the challenge and see how I can overcome the challenge I seem to do much better, however, the majority of the time I need help to see how to overcome certain challenges. This help usually comes from my husband who sees the world differently than I do. Which makes it great because he gives me a new perspective. Other times it is the wisdom from my parents that gives me the best courage and umph I need to overcome whatever challenge is in front of me.
Along with my
husband and parents, I have dear friends that tend to open my eyes to new paths
that I should take to overcome the challenge. Right now, in my life I know that
I’m having a difficult time with a challenge that really only needs a little
faith on my part to overcome it. I know once I mention how I’m feeling about
the challenge to my support “team”, (husband, parents, friends), I know without
a doubt that they will provide me with whatever courage I am lacking I order to
overcome the challenge.
