Week Seven
The more I think about how I can be more successful in my daily
life, as well as in my work and educational aspects of my life I think back to
the article titled, “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” written by
Stephen R. Covey. A couple of the habits particularly stuck out to me.
The first habit being, “Habit 2. Begin
with the end in mind”. I start thinking about how productive I am in my daily
life. Are there times that I can improve? Absolutely. However, the more I think
about what I need to get done on a daily basis and how I am able to accomplish
my tasks, I feel that I do a decent job of having the end in mind. Now when
this comes to personal goals, I seem to struggle a little bit more with having
the end in mind and how to achieve that end.
Another habit that I think back
about is “Habit 4. Think win/win”. I would like to explore this habit more. I
feel like I do not do very well with having the mindset of “win/win”. I feel
like having a positive attitude is very much like this “win/win” mindset.
Believing that you can achieve what you are hoping and yearning to achieve can
play a huge impact on whether or not you actually accomplish it. I don’t think
that just having a positive mindset will set you up for complete success
because you can’t control what will happen. But I feel like if you are able to
have a positive mindset then you have a better footing on the ground than if
you had a negative mindset. I, personally, can always improve on having a
better positive mindset and thinking “win/win”. Knowing that we can make a
positive from a negative instead of dwelling on the negative.
