Week Thirteen

I felt really inspired this week as I was reading through the different talks, documents, and even listening to the videos. I really enjoyed President Thomas S. Monson’s talk called, “An Attitude of Gratitude”. I feel that I have the hardest time personally coming up with things to be grateful for. I know that sounds like a very petty and almost disgusting thing to say, because I have so much to be grateful for. I really do. My family, our home, our animals, friends, jobs, experiences, the safety that we have as we travel, etc. I honestly have so much to be grateful for but there is something in my head that can almost get “stuck”. When I get “stuck” then I feel like I’m in this swirling tube that only looks down. But reading through President Monson’s talk was very inspiring.

If we keep our hearts and minds in the gratitude mindset than it can make all the difference in the world. When I start feeling like I’m swirling down, if I take a moment to breathe and try and think about what is happening in a different perspective than I find myself seeing more of the positive than the negative.

I’m feel excited to try and incorporate this mindset into my daily life. Seeing more positive than negative would be a blessing for me and I know it would benefit my family. Trying to teach my daughter that things aren’t as bad as they seem can be a difficult task. However, if I can start applying this “attitude of gratitude” mindset than I will be able to help my daughter apply the same mindset in her life. I know that my Husband would like for me to see more positive than negative. If we can work as a family unit to fulfill this mindset than we would be able to see the positives together.
